Shelley Smith Unveils 2025 Season Schedule
COLUMBIA, SC – South Carolina women’s soccer head coach Shelley Smith has announced the 2025 season schedule, kicking off the year with two exhibitions against Furman and Duke.
The Gamecocks will first take the field in an exhibition match on the road at Furman (Aug. 3), followed by a final exhibition at home against Duke (Aug. 8). South Carolina will officially open up the 2025 season at the College of Charleston (Aug. 14) under the lights at 7:00 p.m.
South Carolina will then open a three-game home stand, beginning with USF on Sunday, Aug. 17. The Gamecocks will face Big Ten great Ohio State (Aug. 21), and round things out with Miami of Ohio (Aug. 24) before heading up north to face in-state rival Clemson on Aug. 28.
The game against the Tigers will be the 32nd all-time meeting between the two teams, having met every season since the Gamecocks began the program in 1995. South Carolina will look to secure the Palmetto Series point this season after coming off a 1-1 tie the last time out.
After a home game against Georgia State (Aug. 31), the Gamecocks will wrap up the non-conference schedule on the road in Washington D.C., against American (Sept. 4) and Georgetown (Sept. 7). The matchup with the American University Eagles will be the first in program history.
SEC play will kick off on the road at Alabama (Sept. 11), with the Gamecocks returning for the home conference opener against Ole Miss (Sept. 18). South Carolina will face Florida, Oklahoma, Auburn, and Kentucky on the road, while welcoming Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt to Columbia. It will be just the second time the Longhorns have made the trip to Stone Stadium, and the first since joining the conference.
The regular season will conclude with the home game against the Commodores (Oct. 26) before the Gamecocks prepare for the postseason.
The 2025 SEC Tournament will take place Nov. 2-9, once again held in Pensacola, Florida.
