
Gamecocks in the Show June 24 Update

The Major League Baseball’s 2025 season is getting close to hitting the halfway point. Here’s a recap of how the former Gamecocks are doing in the “Show.”
• Jonah Bride (Minnesota Twins) – Bride was traded from the Marlins to the Twins on April 16. He has played in 31 games for Minnesota, mostly at third base, and has a pair of doubles and three RBI to go with four runs scored and 14 hits. His best game in a Twins uniform was on May 19 against Cleveland, when he went 3-for-5 at the plate.
• Carmen Mlodzinski (Pittsburgh Pirates) – Mlodzinski was recalled back to the Pirates on June 11. He has pitched in three games since the call up. In his latest appearance against Texas on June 21, he struck out three and did not allow a run in 2.1 innings of work. Mlodzinski has 34 strikeouts on the season in 12 appearances and nine starts.
• Jordan Montgomery (Arizona Diamondbacks) – Montgomery will miss the 2025 season due to injury.
• Clarke Schmidt (New York Yankees) – Schmidt saved his best outing for his last, pitched seven hitless frames in a win over Baltimore on June 21. He struck out five in the win. On the season, Schmidt is 4-3 with a 2.84 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 69.2 innings pitched. He had a season-high eight strikeouts in 5.2 innings against Cleveland on June 4.
• Christian Walker (Houston Astros) – Walker has played in 75 games for the Astros, mostly at first base, and has 32 runs scored, 10 doubles, a triple, 10 home runs and 37 RBI. Walker had a walk-off single in a win over Seattle on May 25, part of his three-hit day. He doubled and had two hits in Sunday’s game at the Angels.
