Hamilton Claims Title at USATF U20 Championships

EUGENE, Ore. (June 20, 2025) – Four Gamecocks completed the USA Track & Field U20 Championships this week, led by Joslyn Hamilton with a win in the 100-meter hurdle finals on Friday night.

The freshman hurdler began her competition in the preliminary round, running 13.51 (-0.1) for the third fastest time in the field. Hamilton then edged out Anisa Bowen-Fontenot in the final round, winning by three-thousandths of a second. The North Carolina native crossed the line in 13.354 (-0.7), compared to her counterpart’s time of 13.357 (-0.7), resulting in the win.

Josiah Wrice and Elijah Poore opened their competition on Thursday night. Wrice finished third in the preliminary round of the 400-meter sprint, running 46.27. He then took part in the 400m finale on Friday night, running 45.82 for the bronze medal at the USATF U20 Championships. Poore competed in the 3K steeplechase on Thursday night, running 9:23.95 to conclude his event in ninth place.
